Discover the joy of horseback riding in a welcoming, hands-on environment—perfect for date night, a fun outing with friends, or a solo adventure. This two-hour session lets beginners of (almost) any age tack up, ride with guided instruction, and care for their horse afterward—all while building the confidence to book future trail rides or join our lesson program.

  1. Tacking Up (30 minutes)
    • Learn how to saddle and bridle your horse.
    • Get hands-on experience with basic grooming and handling.
  2. Riding Instruction (Up to 1 hour)
    • Benefit from guided coaching in a beginner-friendly environment.
    • Practice essential riding skills like steering, stopping, and controlling your horse’s pace.
  3. Untacking & Cool Down (30 minutes)
    • Safely remove the tack and brush your horse.
    • Understand the importance of cool-down routines and horse care after a ride.

Introduction and Evaluation Group Lesson Guidelines & Exclusions

  1. Age Requirement
    • Minimum Age: Please be prepared to show a valid ID if requested.
    • Ride & Groom: Adults 18+ only
    • Try-It-Out: Participants must be 7 years of age or older.
  2. Ability to Follow Directions
    • Safety First: All riders must be able to understand and follow the instructor’s directions throughout the lesson, including proper mounting, steering, and dismounting.
    • Lesson Termination: If a rider is deemed unsafe, unable to follow directions, or is disruptive, the instructor has the authority to end the lesson for that participant at any time for everyone’s safety.
  3. Weight Limitations 
    • Riders must be under 230lbs.
    • Scale Requirement: If there is a concern about a rider’s weight and horse safety, you may be asked to step on a scale to confirm you meet our weight guidelines. This ensures the wellbeing of both the rider and the horse.
  4. Physical Capability & Conduct
    • Health Considerations: Participants should be physically capable of mounting, dismounting, and riding comfortably. If you have any medical conditions (such as back or neck injuries, pregnancy, or heart issues), please consult with a healthcare professional prior to scheduling a lesson.
    • Behavior: Reckless or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated and may result in immediate dismissal from the lesson.
  5. Attire & Equipment
    • Required Clothing: Closed-toe shoes (e.g., boots) and long pants are required for safety and comfort.
    • Helmets: Properly fitted riding helmets are required. Helmets can be provided if needed.
  6. Weather & Rescheduling
    • Weather Cancellations: Lessons may be canceled or rescheduled due to inclement weather or other safety concerns. We will notify you as soon as possible if changes are necessary.

We closely monitor weather conditions to ensure the safety and comfort of our horses and guests. In the event of inclement or extreme weather, we may need to reschedule your ride. If this situation arises, our team will reach out to you as soon as possible to discuss alternative dates and arrangements. Your safety and satisfaction are our top priorities, and we appreciate your understanding and flexibility.

In the event that you need to cancel, we kindly ask for prompt notification to allow us to offer your spot to another client on our waitlist. Cancellations made at least 14 days before the start date will result in a full credit that can be applied to a future camp, lessons, or other services within 90 days. Cancellations made less than 14 days before the start date may result in the forfeiture of your fee, and no refund or credit will be issued.

No-Show Policy: Failure to attend without prior notice (no-show) will result in the forfeiture of your fee, and no refund or credit will be issued.

By registering, you acknowledge and agree to our Reschedule, Cancellation, and No-Show policies as outlined above. We reserve the right to make exceptions to these policies in extenuating circumstances
