Age Requirements

  • Minimum Age & Height: Riders must be at least 13 years old and 48 inches tall to participate in trail rides. If a rider appears to be under the required age, we may request proof of age (e.g., birth certificate, passport, or other valid ID).
  • Younger or Inexperienced Riders: We highly recommend that anyone under 13 or new to riding begin with lessons or attend a camp at our facilities before booking a trail ride. Once the appropriate skills have been developed, trail rides can be scheduled with their trainer.
  • Hand-Led Rides for Under-13 Riders: If a rider is under 13, their guardian must be able to hand-lead the horse (on foot) for up to 3 miles. This requirement ensures a safe experience for the child and the horse.
  • No Tandem Riding: For the safety of both horse and rider, we do not allow tandem riding under any circumstances.

Ability to Follow Directions

  • Safety First: All riders must be capable of understanding and following the trail guide’s instructions throughout the ride. This includes the ability to start, stop, and steer the horse.
  • Ending a Ride: If a rider is deemed unsafe, unable to follow directions, or displays excessive fear during the ride, the trail guide has the authority to end the ride immediately for the safety of all participants.

Weight Limitations

  • Rider's must be under 230 lbs.
  • Scale Requirement: If there is a concern about a rider’s weight and horse safety, you may be asked to step on a scale to confirm you meet our stable’s weight guidelines.

Physical Capability and Conduct

  • Mounting and Riding: Riders should have the physical capability to mount, dismount, and control the horse under guidance.
  • Behavior: Disruptive or reckless behavior toward horses, staff, or other riders will not be tolerated and may result in immediate removal from the ride.

Health and Medical Restrictions

  • Medical Clearance: If you have any medical conditions that could be affected by horseback riding (e.g., pregnancy, back or neck injuries, heart conditions), please consult a doctor beforehand. We reserve the right to refuse service if we believe riding poses a significant health risk.
  • Under the Influence: Riders under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be allowed to participate.

Attire and Equipment

  • Proper Clothing: Closed-toe shoes (preferably boots) and long pants are required for safety.
  • Helmet Use: We strongly recommend wearing a properly fitted riding helmet. We will provide if you do not have your own.

Additional Recommendations

  • Lessons or Camps: Novice riders are encouraged to take basic riding lessons or attend equestrian camp to gain confidence and proper riding techniques.
  • Weather Considerations: Trail rides may be canceled or rescheduled in cases of severe weather to ensure rider and horse safety.

By booking a trail ride with us, you agree to adhere to these guidelines. Our goal is to provide a safe, enjoyable experience for all riders and our horses. If you have any questions or concerns about our policies, please feel free to contact us before your scheduled ride.

Meet your trail guide at the jump field right off of Jupiter. If you have trouble you can head to the main barn and someone can help direct you.

We may need to reschedule due to weather, equine health, or safety issues. We will try to give a 72 hour notice but as we all know Texas weather can be highly unpredictable.

In the event that you need to cancel, we kindly ask for prompt notification to allow us to offer your spot to another client on our waitlist. Cancellations made at least 14 days before the start date will result in a full credit that can be applied to a future camp, lessons, or other services within 90 days. Cancellations made less than 14 days before the start date may result in the forfeiture of your fee, and no refund or credit will be issued.

No-Show Policy: Failure to attend without prior notice (no-show) will result in the forfeiture of your fee, and no refund or credit will be issued.

By registering, you acknowledge and agree to our Reschedule, Cancellation, and No-Show policies as outlined above. We reserve the right to make exceptions to these policies in extenuating circumstances
